Eucalyptus & Home Décor

Eucalyptus is an evergreen tree native to Australia. It is commonly used as an ingredient in many naturopathic cold and pain remedies. Aside from pain relief and decongestion, there are many uses around your home for this fragrant, trendy & aesthetically pleasing greenery. Here are 3 quick ways to add eucalyptus to your home décor:

  1. Hang a bough of eucalyptus in your shower for a refreshing, spa like aroma every time you step in. Before hanging, you're going to want to roll the eucalyptus leaves with a rolling pin to awaken that minty, evergreen scent. The leaves will give off a fresh scent for approximately 5 to 7 days.

  2. Hang a eucalyptus wreath in your home this year for the holidays. This contemporary twist on a holiday classic is relatively easy to make: check out this post by Better Homes & Gardens for a step by step tutorial.

  3. Place a fresh bunch of eucalyptus in a glass vase for your entryway. The simple beauty of eucalyptus leaves, paired with their welcoming aroma make them a perfect foyer addition. Eucalyptus stems from a florist will keep fresh for about 3 weeks in a vase with water. Be sure to trim the ends before placing them in the vase to allow for maximum water absorption.
